Account unlock links may not work on some systems
(Updated 2014-08-13 @ 12:02)
|Category:||Functionality (Server Side)|
|MIDAS Versions Affected:||4.00 - 4.06|
|Details:||If a user account becomes automatically suspended/locked due to excessive login failures, the "unlock link" sent in an email to the account holder may not unlock their account access on some server setups.|
This can occur if a server's primary "directory index" isn't set to "index.pl".
|Symptoms:||Clicking an account unlock link in an email takes you straight to your MIDAS login screen with no notification that your account has been re-enabled.|
|Workaround:||As a temporary workaround, copy & paste the link from the email into your browser's address bar, but insert "index.pl" before the "?authorize" part, before pressing enter/clicking "Go".|
For a more robust solution, consider configuring the MIDAS directory on your server to have "index.pl" as the primary Directory Index.
On Apache servers, this is usually a simple case of creating/editing the folder's .htaccess file to include the line:
|Resolution:||Fixed for v4.07|
