"552 mail with no date header" error with some SMTP servers
(Updated 2014-09-30 @ 11:16)
|Category:||Functionality (Server Side)|
|MIDAS Versions Affected:||4.06 - 4.07|
|Details:||When sending email from MIDAS via an external SMTP server, depending upon the SMTP server's security settings, it may not accept email from MIDAS.
MIDAS sends SMTP email via the Perl module Net::SMTP, which implements the RFC821 specification. The date header itself is not part of this specification, and is part of the RFC822 specification instead. As such, MIDAS doesn't send the date header.
|Workaround:||Adjust your SMTP server's security restrictions to allow email from your MIDAS without a date header|
|Resolution:||Fixed for v4.07 if installed/updated after 30th September 2014|
