Bug ID: #1708

%DATETIME% template variable not correctly substituted in Booking Confirmation emails

(Updated 2015-08-26 @ 16:30)
Impact Matrix:
Category:Functionality (Server Side)
MIDAS Versions Affected:4.07 - 4.09
Browsers Affected:Unknown/Not Applicable
Details:Customising the "Booking Confirmation" template I have
<tr><td>%LOGO%</td><td><b>Our title text</b></td><td>%DATETIME%</td></tr>. In the template preview the date/time is correctly shown, but in the resulting email the string %DATETIME% is still shown, not resolved.

I have screen grabs if anyone wants to see them. Not possible to reproduce in the demo system because you can't customise templates there.
Steps to Reproduce:
  1. Customise the Booking Confirmation email template by adding the %DATETIME% variable.
  2. Save changes.
  3. Make a booking, requesting email confirmation.
  4. Received email doesn't substitute %DATETIME% for current date and time
Workaround:Using the %REQUEST_DATE% variable in the Booking Confirmation email template as an alternative will correctly substitute for the current date and time
Resolution:Fixed for v4.10

Henry Law commented on 2015-08-26 @ 16:16: Confirmed in the general email template also. HL

Henry Law commented on 2015-08-26 @ 21:56: Well, that works for booking confirmation, thank you, but not for "email:Miscellaneous". I haven't tried any others for a reminder will %REQUEST_DATE% put in the date on which the reminder was sent? It sounds more as if it will put in the date for the original booking request. Anyway, not a comprehensive workround, so roll on 4.10.
[email protected] commented on 2015-08-26 @ 22:02: You are correct that the workaround will only work booking confirmation email templates, where %REQUEST_DATE% can be used as a substitution for the current date/time. The %DATETIME% variable substitution in the "Miscellaneous" email template will also fixed be fixed for v4.10.
